Sometimes the United States Government needs to be sued, and the US Court of Federal Claim is the venue for many of those lawsuits. Often referred to a as a “Secret Court” the Court of Federal Claims has exclusive jurisdiction over the following types of cases:
Takings Claims - The Government unjustly takes a citizen’s land;
Pay Claims - The Government fails to pay its employee for time worked (civilian or military);
Native American Indian Claims - The Government has caused harm to native indigenous tribes or their members;
Vaccine Injury Claims - A Government recommended vaccine caused an injury to a citizen;
Government Contract Disputes - The Government made a promise to a citizen in contract and then broke that promise.
This means that an act of congress created the Court and the cases it hears, along with a procedure unique to resolving these specific disputes. Unlike State Courts or Federal District Courts, the cases in the Court of Federal Claims are not decided by a fair and impartial jury of your peers, but instead are decided by Special Masters which are similar to Judges. I have over a decade of experience in the Court of Federal Claims and defend citizen’s right to fair and adequate compensation for the Government’s negligent or unjust conduct.
